The Year of The Sunflower

Birds have planted sunflowers everywhere around my yard this year. I also planted a wide variety in my wildflower garden. They are one of my favorite flowers. They have also done really well this year.

Year of the Zinnia

My Zinnias are doing great this year. Much of the rest of the garden has had a rough time. These State Fair Zinnias are huge and keep blooming.

Butterflies and hummingbirds

One of my hummingbirds is getting quite fat. I've nicknamed her fatty fat. She really likes my new window feeder.

Four O'Clocks

When my son was in kindergarten he brought home a Four O'Clock plant. We saved the seeds and plant them every year now. They just started blooming and were open last night when I took these pictures.

Wild Flower Garden

This is the first year I have tried growing a wildflower garden. Here are some of the flowers blooming in it. Unfortunately, I also have a bunch of weeds growing too. Next year I have to rethink my method.

The hummingbirds stuck around while I was on vacation

The hummingbirds are still here. We are starting to see more fights between them. Here are some recent pictures.
