Who has been sleeping in my Evening Primrose?

My ancient Golden Retriever has been sleeping in and flattening my Evening Primrose. Here she is caught in the act and looking quite comfortable. Also a picture of what is to be a new wildflower garden. The seeds have been spread and planted. I'll post and update on it as it grows and hopefully blooms.

Things are starting to bloom

Baptisia, the first Snapdragon, Honeysuckles, Keys Of Heaven and Dianthus are all blooming happily this week.

Crazy Daisies are blooming

My crazy daisies just started blooming. They seem to be a slightly different color than last year.

More of Hot Lips Salvia.
Lantana and a Stachys Coccinea that came back from last year. It seems not as floppy as it was.

A good time of year to be a cat

The Garden is all planted and ready to grow

A view of the hummingbird garden after the final plantings.

Some close ups of Keys Of Heaven, Dianthus and the first Rose.

More blooms in May

I planted these salmon salvia plants as an accent thru out the garden. They don't attract hummingbirds, but gives a little extra color while I am waiting for my seedlings to bloom.

After taking last year off, I decided to try million bells in a hanging basket again.

The purple flower is a blooming chive plant. I also picked up a blooming pineapple sage. It won't bloom again until the fall. If we have an early frost like last year it won't bloom again at all.

More orange flowers

I have been planting alot of these honeysuckles along the fence that borders the hummingbird garden. I love them! Also included some more orange flowers. Pictured are a Spider Zinnia which I grew from seed, an Agastache and some Lantana.

Memorial Day weekend blooms

Things are starting to bloom around here. For some reason I am loving orange flowers this year.

Some Salvia Greggi and a red Penta.

I had to get a hot lips plant again this year. So cool to see the red and white blooms.

Alliums: where have you been all my life?

I have never planted Alliums before and I won't make that mistake again. I am loving these tall purple flowers right now. The tullips and daffodils are done blooming and now these have taken over. Next year I will plant more:)

My favorite invasive plant Dame's Rocket is blooming in our wild space.

New blooms in the garden

This bright orange flower is called Campion. I bought it as the tag said it should attract hummingbirds. After looking it up online I am thinking it may not. At least it is pretty and hardy in my zone. The first daisy also bloomed today!

The wisconsin tropics

Last year I had the most beautiful red hibiscus plant on my deck all summer. I brought it inside and it survived until Christmas time. I knew I wanted another hibiscus this summer and found this beautiful orange one today. It is inside tonight thou as the lows are predicted to be in the 40's. Gotta love the Wisconsin tropics.

More May blooms and A Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

I splurged on this beautiful Lantana hanging basket. It is fun to see the pansies and violas I planted from seed start to bloom. I also included this picture of a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak as I have never seen one before. I was pretty far away when I snapped the picture, so hopfully can get a better one next time I see him.

What's blooming in the middle of May

Navajo Salvia , Columbine, Bleeding Hearts and Fox Glove are blooming here right now.
