Oriole nest revealed

This is a blog where I can ramble on about my plants, especially my hummingbird garden, which is my passion. I have been gardening since childhood, but this is only my fourth year as a hummingbird gardener. It is also my fourth year gardening and living in Wisconsin.

Love the picture of the red leaf
I've been following your blog since spring. We live in Germantown in a less wooded area where we see fewer hummingbirds. We do house bluebirds and swallows and get orioles for a while each year, which is nice. I did plant Cardinal flowers and see more hummingbirds this year than the previous two or three years combined so I'm hopeful. I've enjoyed your pictures. Can I ask what type of camera and lenses you use? You take some nice pictures. Thanks. Dave
I use a cannon 30 D. My favorite lense for hummingbird pic is a zoom lense ef100-400mm. I am still trying to learn to use the camera to it's potential. I think I may need to take a class or two. Glad you had more hummingbirds this year. The flowers really do draw them in.

Thank you for your reply. We'll be planting many more cardinal flowers and such next spring.
We just bought a Nikon D40 this weekend but we don't have a $1,300zoom yet. Hopefully we'll get one soon so we can try to capture a few of those moments next year.
Thanks.
