monarch on phlox

My phlox was a bit late blooming this year thanks to a hungry deer at the beginning of the summer. Now it is out and the butterflies are enjoying it. I can't resist posting another hummingbird picture as well. This little guy is trying hard to defend his territory.

I love Monarchs, they almost don't look real with those colorful wings. Is that a twist tie the hummingbird is perched on? Great pics and the Phlox looks great!

I love your photos. I wish I had more hummers this year. They have been very scarce and I really miss them while I garden. I tend to wear red so they follow me around. But not this year - sigh!
